Recommended Action:
a) Approve Resolution for Budget Adjustment BA24-108, increasing the FY24 budget for Babcock Ranch Water Supply in the amount of $6,500,000; and
b) Approve amendment to Capital Improvement Project "Babcock Ranch Water Supply."

Budgeted Action:
Approve budget adjustment BA24-108 in the amount of $6,500,000, amending the FY24 budget for CIP project “Babcock Ranch Water Supply” from $3,547,500 to $10,047,500. Funding is needed for additional professional engineering services and is provided from the Utilities Water Connection Fee Fund reserves.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
Charlotte County is pursuing a water use permit for Babcock Ranch. The Babcock Ranch Water Supply Capital Improvement Program was approved by the Board on April 11, 2024. The next step in the process is preparing a routing study, feasibility study and preliminary engineering report to better define facilities needed and identify install locations. An updated cost estimate will also be provided.
