Recommended Action:
Recommend approval of Change Order #4, to Contract #24-028, Facilities Grounds Maintenance - Annual Contract as awarded to Walkers Service Inc. of Punta Gorda, Florida at the unit prices on the attached change order request. This change order is for the addition of maintenance services for the Babcock Ranch Fire Station #9 and Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office District 5 locations.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
This is an annual contract for the services of an experienced Contractor to care for and maintain the landscape grounds of multiple County locations at a high level of services acceptable to the County. The work includes, but is not limited to, maintenance of turf, shrubs, trees, palms, ornamental grasses, ground cover, perennials, annuals, plant beds, as well as necessary mulching and fertilization.
This change order is for required services to be added for the new Babcock Ranch Fire Station #9 and Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office District 5 locations. As Walkers Service Inc. is the awarded Contractor for the South County Group, a quote was requested from them the annual services.
Therefore, request approval of Change Order #4 to Contract #24-028, Facilities Grounds Maintenance - Annual Contract as awarded to Walkers Service Inc. of Punta Gorda, Florida, at the unit costs per the attached for Critical Care Turf , Trimming / Pruning Shrubs / Ornamental Trees, Weed Control, Fertilization and Mulching.
