Recommended Action:
a) Approve award of Request for Bid #26-234, Access Control Panel System Contractor - Annual Contract to Miller Electric Company of Tampa, Florida per the unit cost labor rate bid on the attached bid form with a contract term to be from March 1, 2026, through and including December 31, 2026; and
b) Authorize the County Administrator, or his designee, to approve the renewal options for up to two (2) additional one (1) year terms, at the same prices, terms and conditions, by mutual consent.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The purpose of this bid is to secure the services of a licensed Access Control Panel System Contractor to provide for repair, maintenance, upgrading, and installation of the County’s existing Genetec Access Control Panel System in accordance with industry standards, recommended installation procedures, best practices, as well as Federal, State and Local rules, regulations, codes, and guidelines on an “as required” basis.
The submitting firms were asked to provide a unit cost labor rate for any work being performed; and response time for emergency and non-emergency service calls. After review and evaluation of the bids submitted, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to award to Miller Electric Company of Tampa, Florida at the unit cost labor rate bid.
