Recommended Action:
a) Approve ranking of firms for Request for Proposal #26-162, Design - Jail Administration Renovations: 1st Strollo Architects, Inc., of Orlando, Florida, 2nd PBK Architects, Inc., of Fort Myers, Florida, 3rd LDDBlueline Florida, LLC, of Tampa, Florida; and
b) Approve start of negotiations; and
c) Authorize the Chairman to sign contracts after completion of negotiations, if contract does not exceed the amount of $700,000; and
d) Approve Resolution for budget adjustment BA26-231 in the amount of $700,000; and
e) Approve amendment to the Capital Improvement Project “Sheriff Jail Admin Renovations (with Kitchen & Laundry)”.

Budgeted Action:
Approve budget adjustment BA26-231 in the amount of $700,000 amending the FY26 budget for Capital Improvement Project “Sheriff Jail Admin Renovations (with Kitchen & Laundry)” to recognize funding from the Infrastructure Fund using ad valorem dollars returned from the Sheriff.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
Charlotte County is seeking professional planning and design services for the Sheriff Jail Administration, kitchen and laundry renovations.
Four (4) proposals were received and evaluated by the Professional Services Committee consisting of Teresa VanderWaag, Facilities Manager - Facilities Management; Maryann Franks, Zoning Coordinator - Building Construction Services; and Kelly Slaughter, Projects Manager - Public Works. Copies of the proposals received are attached along with the breakdown of the ranking.
