BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

body

Background:

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has notified Charlotte County that the FY2026-2027 General Appropriations Act provides a $2,000,000 non-recurring Fixed Capital Outlay (FCO) appropriation for the “Charlotte County Sheriff’s Warehouse” project. The designated recipient is the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners, and the funding will be administered by FDLE, Bureau of Criminal Justice Grants, through a State Financial Assistance Award Agreement. The appropriation will be used to support the development and construction of a warehouse facility for the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO). The warehouse will provide dedicated space for the secure storage and management of CCSO equipment and other operational assets and will be incorporated into a County Capital Improvement Project for the facility. The State-funded project has an established project period of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
