BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

body

Background:

The Midway & Abalom Gravity Sewer Outlet Project will provide a permanent connection for the existing isolated gravity sewer system serving residences along Midway Boulevard. The project includes the installation of a grinder pump station and related infrastructure necessary to connect the sewer line to the County’s wastewater collection system.

Completion of the project will eliminate the need for ongoing pump-out operations, improve the reliability of wastewater service, and reduce the potential for sanitary sewer overflows. Establishing a permanent connection will also support more efficient system operations and maintenance.

Staff recommend establishing the Midway & Abalom Gravity Sewer Outlet Project within the FY2027 Capital Improvement Program and appropriating $205,000 to fund design, permitting, bidding, and construction activities.
