No action needed. Budgeted in the Community Services Capital Maintenance Plan as approved in the FY26 budget process. Funding is provided from the Capital Projects Fund, ad valorem.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
Community Services has requested to secure the services of a licensed Contractor to construct new amenities at Port Charlotte Beach Park. Amenities included in the project are replacement of the existing playground, new fitness equipment, expanded walking paths, new basketball courts, pickleball courts, horseshoe pits, cornhole, and bocce courts with shade, two (2) 12’x18’ pavilions, one (1) 40’x40’ pavilion, and one (1) 30’x74’ pavilion.
Therefore, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Legacy Sports Surfacing d/b/a Legacy Sports Construction of Melbourne, Florida for the total amount of $2,437,313.13.
Completion time is 217 calendar days with $1,690 per calendar day for liquidated damages.
