BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

body

Background:

Gottfried Creek’s navigational aids were initially installed as part of a joint Charlotte County/West Coast Inland Navigation District (WCIND) project with the intention that Charlotte County would assume control after installation. However, the transference of ownership did not occur at that time due to unknown circumstances leaving the ownership of those aids with WCIND. Recently, citizens have inquired about restoration of the navigational aids following Hurricane Ian. WCIND has requested that Charlotte County assume ownership of the area’s navigational aids and has provided grant funding to allow for the restoration.
