Approve award of Piggyback File #24-408, Fire/EMS Uniforms and Uniforms Accessories, per Hillsborough County Contract #ITB-24-24620, Fire Rescue Uniforms and Uniform Accessories, which was awarded to DesignLab Incorporated, of Greenville, South Carolina, at the unit prices submitted.

Budgeted Action:
No action needed. 75% budgeted in the Fire Rescue Fund - Fire budget and 25% budgeted in General Fund - EMS budget as approved in the FY2024 budget process. Funding for this expenditure comes from Fire Rescue MSBU assessments and ad valorem.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
Charlotte County Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical Services Department has requested an annual contract be established for the purchase and delivery of dress uniform pants and shirts, work shirts, t-shirts, BDU's and accessories worn by department personnel in daily operations. DesignLabs prices on Fire/EMS uniforms include the sewing on of all department patches as specified. It cannot be estimated at this time how many of each item the Charlotte County Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical Services will purchase during a one (1) year period. However, no minimum amount is guaranteed or implied. The Uniforms and accessories will be purchased on an "as required basis".
The process with Design Lab, all items are available from one source. One layer of approval (Employee orders and then approval is by DC of Logistics). There is no estimation of sizes/amounts for stock as each employee will have strict guidelines regarding what they will be allowed to order and will only be able to access those items. Delivery will be direct to the employee.
