BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

body

Background:

Charlotte County serves as the fiscal host of CHNEP to provide an array of operational support services, including entering into agreements on its behalf in support of the implementation of the CHNEP’s Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan. One such service is to enter into agreements and accept grant awards on CHNEP’s behalf. CHNEP’s previous host, the City of Punta Gorda, had accepted awards from EPA on CHNEP’s behalf and at time of CHNEP’s move to Charlotte County, CHNEP and the City requested the unspent EPA funds to be novated (transferred) into a new grant to CHNEP’s current host - Charlotte County. This grant award is the transfer of the $333,875 to CHNEP through Charlotte County. EPA does not require signature to accept, so authorization to accept will be indicated by Board action in order to receive these funds.
