No action needed. Budgeted in Capital Improvements Project "Additional Rolling Stock Public Works (FY24/FY25)" approved in the FY24 budget process. Funding is supplied from maintenance gas taxes and MSBU reimbursements.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The purpose of this purchase is to secure a firm price for the purchase and delivery of one (1) 2024 Mack MD7 Grapple Truck, which will be utilized by the Public Works Maintenance and Operations Department. This truck will include a HP Upgrade to 280HP with 660 LB-FT Torque, Battery Disconnect Switch, Rear Axle Full Diff Lock, All Aluminum Wheels, Allison 3000RDS, and Brush Hawg C Model Grapple Loader. This is a new addition to fleet and was previously approved by the Board of Commissioners. The prices, terms, conditions, and specifications are from the Florida Sheriff’s Association Cooperative Purchasing Program Contract #FSA23-VEH21.0: Heavy Trucks and Buses contract.
Therefore, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to award the purchase of one (1) 2024 Mack MD7 Grapple Truck to Nextran Trucks Centers of Fort Myers, Florida for a cost of $209,761.
