BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
It is the recommendation of Risk Management and the County Attorney to approve the mediated settlement agreement as the amount of exposure far exceeds the settlement amount. Robert Dobson was a Firefighter for 20 years and retired in 2022. A mediated settlement was tentatively reached on May 7, 2024, pending approval of the Board. The settlement is $135,000.00 for six (6) claims that were serious industrial accidents that required four (4) surgeries over the last six (6) years.
