Approve grant application for the Florida Sports Foundation Grant for US Sports Congress Conference in the amount of $15,000.00.

Budgeted Action:
No action needed. Budgeted in the Tourism Promo General account during FY 2024 budget process. Grant funding in the amount of $15,000.00 will be provided by the Florida Sports Foundation. Matching funding in the amount of $15,000.00 will be paid from the Tourist Development Tax Fund.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
This Grant assists by offsetting a certain portion of expenses related to hosting the US Sports Congress Conference. The County has been receiving Florida Sports Foundation grants for over ten years. This event will generate significant economic impact for the County, a primary responsibility of the Tourism Development Department. Pursuant to Resolution 2016-136, the amount of the Grant exceeds the County Administrator’s authorization to execute application approval and related documents without Board approval.
