REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION
recommendation
Recommended Action:
a) Approve Amendment 1, Grant Agreement LPA0261 between Charlotte County and the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) for the Utilities Septic to Sewer Project; and
b) Approve Resolution authorizing County Administrator, or designee, to execute all future agreements/amendments and any related documents; and
c) Authorize the Chairman, or designee, to sign the grant related documents.

Budgeted Action:
No action needed. Budgeted in the FY24 CIP project “Ackerman Septic to Sewer and Water Expansion”. Allowable grant expenses will be reimbursed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Agency. There is no local match required.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The Board approved entering into Agreement LPA0261 for Charlotte County Ackerman-Countryman Septic-to Sewer Conversion Project with FDEP at the December 13, 2022, BCC meeting.
This project included conversion of septic to sewer infrastructure, including the removal of existing septic systems, as well as the improvement of existing sanitary sewer conveyance, wastewater treatment, and effluent disposal facilities to accommodate increased flows.
An amendment to the original agreement is needed for time extension as well as replacement of exhibits, documents, and other minor revised information.
