No action needed. Budgeted in the CIP Project “East Port WRF Control Room Hardening” as approved in the FY24 Capital Improvement Program budget process. Funding is supplied from the Utility Wastewater Connection Fee Fund.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
It is the intention of the Charlotte County Utilities Department to retain the services of a professional firm to develop plans and specifications for hardening and upgrading the East Port Water Reclamation Facility Operations Building located at 3100 Loveland Boulevard, Port Charlotte, Florida from the 2004 Building Code Standards to the current adopted Building Code Addition.
The project consists of the review of existing design, limited condition assessment, proposed building improvements, consult with stake holders, final approval and designing improvements to upgrade and harden the East Port WRF Operations Building to the current adopted edition of the Florida Building Code. The East Port WRF Operations Building supports the East Port Water Reclamation Facility and the Charlotte County Utilities Laboratory.
The complete Scope of Services along with the associated fees are attached. Utilities has reviewed and approves the Scope and Fee submitted and recommends award to Alliance Design Group (ADG) for the not-to-exceed amount of $189,000.
