Approve award of Request for Bid #24-476, Rotonda Bridge Rehabilitations #4 and #5, to Thomas Marine Construction, Inc. of Fort Myers, Florida, for the total amount of $1,800,213.45. This is for the services of a Contractor to complete six (6) bridge repairs.

No action needed. Budgeted in the Public Works MSBU/TU Bridges Capital Maintenance Plan as approved in the FY24 budget process. Funding is supplied from Rotonda West Street and Drainage MSBU assessments.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
It is the intent of Charlotte County to secure the services of a Contractor to furnish all materials, labor, equipment, and all other appurtenances required to successfully complete the required Rotonda West bridge repairs on Rotonda Circle over Pinehurst Creek North (Bridge #014101), Rotonda Circle over Broadmoor Creek North (Bridge #014104), Rotonda Circle over Long Meadow Creek South (Bridge #014107), Rotonda Circle over Oakland Hills Creek (Bridge #014060), Rotonda Circle over Pebble Beach Creek South 32-1 (Bridge #014063), and Rotonda Circle over Pinehurst Creek South (Bridge #014100).
It has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to award to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, Thomas Marine Construction, Inc. of Fort Myers, Florida, for the total amount of $1,800,213.45.
Completion time is 210 calendar days with $2,579 per calendar day for liquidated damages.
