BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
A Request for Bid was issued to secure the services of a licensed Contractor to construct a concrete sidewalk on Quesada Avenue in Port Charlotte. The project includes sidewalk construction, drainage improvements, pedestrian signals, lighting, and all appurtenances as indicated on the construction plans.
After review and evaluation of the Bids received, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to award to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder, Andrew SiteWork LLC of Fort Myers, Florida in the amount of $969,389.92.
The completion time is 150 calendar days with a liquidated damages rate of $1,690 per day.
