BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)
body
Background:
As the area develops and more residents occupy the vacant lots speeding has become an issue. In addition, the posted speed on the six collector roads of 45 miles per hour and 40 miles per hour is high for a residential neighborhood. At the request of several residents, this Ordinance for speed reduction aims to enhance the safe and efficient flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic throughout the South Gulf Cove Area on all major streets listed below. The proposed speed is 35 miles per hour with the existing posted speed shown in parenthesis:
San Domingo Boulevard, from Gasparilla Road to Calumet Boulevard (45 mph)
Ingram Boulevard, from Gasparilla Road to St. Paul Drive (45 mph)
Keystone Boulevard, from Gasparilla Road to Hallendale Drive (45 mph)
Appleton Boulevard, from Gasparilla Road to St. Paul Drive (45 mph)
Calumet Boulevard, from Greencastle Avenue to St. Paul Drive (40 mph)
St. Paul Drive, from Margo Circle to Appleton Boulevard (45 mph)
