Recommended Action:
a) Approve award of “Piggyback” to File #25-184, for the purchase of two (2) Menzi Muck Excavators MM545X, per Florida Sheriff’s Association Cooperative Purchasing Program Contract #FSA23-EQU21.0, and award to Menzi USA Sales, Inc of Lakeland, Florida for a purchase of $656,048.77 per unit; and
b) Approve Asset #35840 to be sold via auction

Budgeted Action:
No action needed. Budgeted in the Capital Improvement Project “Additional Rolling Stock Public Works FY24/FY25)” and the Heavy Equipment Replacement plan as approved in the FY25 budget process. Funding is supplied from the Vehicle Replacement fund and will be charged to the appropriate department.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The purpose of this purchase is to secure a firm price for the purchase and delivery of two (2) Menzi Muck Excavators MM545X to replace Asset #35840 and one addition to Fleet, which will be utilized by Public Works Maintenance & Operations. The total cost includes a 2-year parts and labor warranty for each unit. The prices, terms and conditions and specifications are from the statewide Florida Sheriff’s Association Cooperative Purchasing Program Contract #FSA23-EQU21.0, Heavy Equipment.
Therefore, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to award the purchase of the two (2) Menzi Muck Excavators MM545X to Menzi USA Sales, Inc of Lakeland, Florida for a cost of $656,048.77 per unit and approve Asset #35840 to be sold via auction.
