REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION

Recommended Action:
a) Approve Standard Grant Agreement SD016 between Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Charlotte County in the amount of $75,000 for the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership (CHNEP), and
b) Authorize the Chairman to sign the Standard Grant Agreement.

Budgeted Action:
No action required. Grant funding in the amount of $75,000 and the required match of $75,000 are included in the FY25 budget for CHNEP Fund 1026. Grant funding is provided by Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Matching funds in the amount of $75,000 will be provided from CHNEP EPA320 funding.

Background:
Approval will allow Charlotte County, administrative and fiscal host of the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership’s new administrative host, to officially accept FDEP Grant #SD016. The grant funds the Budget & Work Plan for the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership. CHNEP’s funding leverages and complements local efforts.
