recommendation
Recommended Action:
a) Approve three-year agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for maintenance of US41 from the Peace River Bridge to South Toledo Blade Boulevard and SR776 from US41 to Cornelius Boulevard to include mowing, litter removal and edging/sweeping; and
b) Approve Resolution authorizing the Chair to execute the agreement.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
On March 26, 2019, the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) entered into a three-year agreement with FDOT for maintenance services to be provided by the Public Works Department on US41 from the Peace River Bridge to South Toledo Blade Boulevard and SR776 from US41 to Cornelius Boulevard with payment in three (3) quarterly lump sum payments of $15,108.56 for each, one (1) quarterly lump sum payment of $15,108.53, for a total of $60,434.21 per year or a total of $181,302.63 for three years. On May 10, 2022, the BCC entered into a three-year agreement for maintenance services to be provided by the Public Works Department on US41 from the Peace River Bridge to South Toledo Blade Boulevard and SR776 from US41 to Cornelius Boulevard with a payment in four (4) quarterly lump sum payments of $15,273.96 for a total of $61,095.84 per year of a total of $183,287.52 for three years. The agreement presented from FDOT is for a three-year term renewable for an additional three years; for maintenance services to be provided by the Public Works Department on US41 from the Peace River Bridge to South Toledo Blade Boulevard and SR776 from US41 to Cornelius Boulevard with a payment in three (3) quarterly lump sum payments of $15,902.02 for each, and one (1) lump sum payment of $15,901.99, for a total of...
