REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION

Recommended Action:
a) Approve the split “per item” award of Request for Bid #26-533, Sand, Rock, and Rip Rap- Annual Contract, to four firms: Shipps Excavating, Inc of Venice, Florida; Giving Tree Capital, LLC of Hallandale Beach, Florida; Nickale Corp. of Naples, Florida; and Jeff Alan Construction, Inc. of Placida, Florida, at the unit prices attached, with the initial contract term of October 1, 2026, through and including September 30, 2027; and
b) Authorize the County Administrator to approve renewal options for up to two additional one-year terms at the same prices, terms and conditions, by mutual consent.

Budgeted Action:
No action needed. Budgeted in Public Works Road Maintenance and MSBU/TU as approved in the FY207 budget process. Items will be placed into inventory and charged out to appropriate MSBU/TU or Road & Bridge when used with funding from assessments or gas tax.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
This request is for the procurement of sand, rock, and rip rap utilized by Public Works Maintenance and Operations Division. These materials will be purchased on an as required basis. This contract provides deliveries to three (3) yard locations: Punta Gorda, Englewood, and Port Charlotte with the recommended per item award highlighted on the attached bid tabulation.
Therefore, recommend approval of the split “per item” award of Request for Bid #26-533, Sand, Rock, and Rip Rap- Annual Contract to four firms: Shipps Excavating, Inc of Venice, Florida; Giving Tree Capital, LLC of Hallandale Beach, Florida; Nickale Corp. of Naples, Florida; and Jeff Alan Construction, Inc. of Placida, Florida, at the unit prices attached, with the initial contract term of October 1, 2026, through and including September 30, 2027; and authorize the County Administrator to approve renewal options for up to two additional one-year terms at the same prices, terms and conditions, by mutual consent
