REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION

Recommended Action:
a) Approve award of Piggyback purchase of File #25-403, Purchase of TANA H555 Landfill Waste Compactor, per the Florida Sheriff’s Association Contract #FSA23-EQU21.0, and award to National Equipment Dealers, LLC of Fort Myers, Florida for the total purchase price of $1,185,748.59; and
b) Authorize the Trade-in one (1) TANA E380 Landfill Waste Compactor (Asset #38142) for a trade-in allowance of $300,000. This is for the purchase of one (1) TANA H555 Landfill Waste Compactor to replace Asset #38142; and
c) Approve Resolution for budget adjustment BA25-175 in the amount of $1,185,749; and
d) Approve amended Heavy Equipment Replacement Capital Maintenance Plan increasing the total budget from $6,724,862 to $7,910,611.

Budgeted Action:
Approve budget adjustment BA25-175 in the amount of $1,185,749 amending the FY25 budget for the Heavy Equipment Replacement Capital Maintenance Plan from $6,724,862 to $7,910,611. Additional funding is needed for the accelerated equipment purchase to secure favorable pricing and lead time. Funding is supplied from the Solid Waste Enterprise Fund, landfill fees.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
This purchase request is for a replacement Waste Compactor to be utilized by Solid Waste Division of Public Works for processing debris coming into the Landfill. This unit is available through the Florida Sheriff’s Association Contract #FSA23-EQU21.0, Heavy Equipment. This piggyback purchase includes attachments such as Fire Suppression, Engine and Hydraulic Heater, Heated Mirrors, Side Cameras, Side Lights, Heated and Cooling Seats, TANA Connect Access and Reporting, and a 5-year /7,500 Hour Full Machine additional warranty.
Therefore, it is in the best interest of the County to award the Piggyback File #25-403, Purchase of TANA H555 Landfill Waste Compactor, to National Equipment Dealers, LLC of Fort Myers, Florida for the total purchase of $1,185,748.59; and Authorize the Trade-in allowance of Asset #38142 in the amount of $300,000.
