REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION

Recommended Action:

a) Approve ranking for firms for Request for Proposal #24-645, Inspection and Plan Review Services Library; 1st C.A.P. Government, Inc. of Coral Gables, Fl; 2nd M.T. Causley, Inc. of Cutler Bay, Fl; and 3rd Universal Engineering Sciences of Lehigh Acres, Fl; and

b) Authorize the Chairman to sign the contracts.

This is for private provider firms as defined in Florida State Statutes 553.791 to perform plan review and inspections in compliance with the Florida Building Code and any other Local, State or Federal Codes relating to the construction of the building with the exception of any local land development or zoning codes.

Budgeted Action:

No action needed: Budgeted in the Building Construction Services Fund - Building Construction Services Budget as approved in the FY2025 budget process. Funding for this expenditure comes from Building Permit Revenues.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background: 

This is a multi-award proposal, awarded to the top three (3) ranked providers (Primary, Secondary, and Third) meeting private provider firms as defined in Florida State Statutes 553.791 to perform plan reviews and inspections for compliance with the Florida Building Code and any other Local, State or Federal Codes relating to the construction of the building with the exception of any local land development or zoning codes. These services will be used on a “as needed basis”.

 

Professional Services Committee members consisting of Jack McStravic, Deputy Building Official, Community Development; Sandra Weaver, Business Services Supervisor - Utilities; and Gail Gursky, Code Compliance Supervisor - Community Development; evaluated the three (3) proposals submitted. A breakdown of the ranking is attached, along with a copy of the proposals submitted by the top three firms.
