REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION
recommendation
Recommended Action:
a) Retroactively approve award of Request for Bid, #25-423, Rolled Certified Celebration Bermuda Sod - Annual Contract, which was awarded to Lira and Sons Sod of Inverness, Florida at the unit price submitted through September 30, 2026; and
b) Authorize County Administrator, or his designee, to approve renewal options for up to two (2) one-year periods at the same prices, terms and conditions, by mutual consent.

No action needed. Budgeted in the General Fund - Parks Maintenance budget and the Community Services Capital Maintenance Plan as approved in the FY26 budget process. Funding is supplied from ad valorem, and Capital Projects Fund.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The purpose of this Request for Bid is to secure a firm price for the annual contract for the supply, delivery, and installation of Rolled Certified Celebration Bermuda Sod for various athletic fields on an as required basis. Community Services is requesting to re-sod the soccer fields at Centennial Park with approximately 330,000 square feet of this sod. This contract was approved and awarded on June 2, 2025, by the County Administrator and was anticipated to be within the Admin Approval threshold.
This project coming online requires Board approval of the annual contract. Therefore, it is in the best interest of the County to a) Retroactively approve award of Request for Bid, #25-423, Rolled Certified Celebration Bermuda Sod - Annual Contract, awarded to Lira and Sons Sod of Inverness, Florida at the unit price submitted through September 30, 2026; and b) Authorize County Administrator, or his designee, to approve renewal options for up to two (2) ...
