Recommended Action:
a) Approve Amendment 1 for Contract #25-233, Construction Manager at Risk - Emergency Operations Center Expansion with Florida Premier Contractors, LLC of Punta Gorda, Florida for the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in the amount of $16,434,577; and
b) Authorize the Chairman to sign Amendment 1.

Budgeted Action:
No action needed. Budgeted in the Capital Improvement Project “Emergency Operations Center Expansion” as approved in the FY26 budget process. Funding is supplied from Capital Projects Fund, ad valorem, to be reimbursed up to $12,000,000 by the State of Florida, Division of Emergency Management mitigation grant. There is no local match required.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
On May 13, 2025, the BCC approved the ranking and negotiations for the Construction Manager at Risk- Emergency Operations Center Expansion with Florida Premier Contractors, LLC to provide professional services of the Emergency Operations Center.
This Amendment for Phase II, the construction management phase, establishes the scope and approval of the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), which means the maximum compensation to be paid by the County in providing all work required to complete the project. The anticipated work/construction is to be completed by December 2027.
