Recommended Action:
a) Approve the Cooperative Service Agreement with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the control of iguanas on the Charlotte County's portion of Gasparilla Island starting October 1, 2025; and
b) Authorize the Chairman to sign the Agreement.

Budgeted Action:
No action needed. Budgeted in the Boca Grande Street and Drainage Unit as approved in the FY26 budget process, effective October 1, 2025. Funding is provided by Boca Grande Street and Drainage MSBU assessments.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
Charlotte County Parks and Natural Resources has contracted with the USDA to remove iguanas from Charlotte County’s portion of Gasparilla Island at the request of MSBU since 2008. The MSBU has requested continued trapping for FY2026.
