BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

body

Background:

Charlotte County Facilities have requested Real Estate Services to find space to lease on behalf of Charlotte County Utilities. Due to hurricane damages, the Harborview Road space was relocated to a temporary structure at the same site.  Facilities and Charlotte County Utilities requested the desire to find a more suitable space for lease.  The property at 3280 Tamiami Trail was identified and approved by Facilities and Charlotte County Utilities.  The lease is for 15,000 square feet.  It is a 3-year lease with 2 one-year options, the lease rate for year 1 will be $23.00 per square foot followed by subsequent 3% annual rate increases. The cost qualifies for FEMA reimbursement and is less than the current rental rate for the modular systems.

County Attorney’s Office, Charlotte County Utilities and Facilities staff have reviewed this request and recommend approval.
