Recommended Action:
a) Approve award of Request for Bid #25-724, Electrical Contractor - Annual Contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Jeff Masters Electric Company of Punta Gorda, Florida at the rate of $53.00 per hour for the term of January 1, 2026, through and including December 31, 2026; and
b) Authorize the County Administrator, or his designee, to approve the renewal options for up to two additional one-year terms, at the same prices, terms and conditions, by mutual consent.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The purpose of this bid is to secure the services of a licensed Electrical Contractor to provide the services in accordance with industry standards and Federal, State, and Local rules, regulations, and guidelines on an “as required basis”. The work required will generally be installation, repair and/or maintenance. The submitting firms were asked to provide an hourly labor rate, which includes all related overhead costs and an allowance for a seven percent (7%) mark-up on materials, and a seven percent (7%) mark-up on sub-contractors if required.
Therefore, it is recommended to be in the County’s best interest to award to Jeff Masters Electric Company of Punta Gorda, Florida at the hourly rate of $53.00 from January 1, 2026, through and including December 31, 2026, with the option to renew for up to two (2) additional one-year terms, at the same prices, terms and conditions, by mutual consent.
