BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

body

Background:

On June 28, 2021, the Board adopted Resolution 2021-077 agreeing to participate in the Florida Unified Plan governing the allocation and use of Opioid settle proceeds.  Use of the monies is essentially limited to treatment and education of opioid/substance abuse. There are 3 pots of monies – a city/county fund, a regional pot, and the State pot. Due to our population size, our share under the regional pot goes to the Department of Children and Families and then to the managing entity Central Florida Behavioral Network for spending. The Purchase Agreement allows our county to access our FY25-FY26 funding.
