Recommended Action:
a) Approve the Agreement between Charlotte County and the Animal Welfare League (AWL) for the provision of animal sheltering, housing, care, and related services for homeless, abused, and neglected animals within Charlotte County; and
b) Authorize the chairman to sign the Agreement.

Budgeted Action:
No Action Needed. Contract begins in FY27. A budget adjustment will be bought with the Q1 FY27 Budget Adjustments to increase the planned FY27 budget by $534,599. Funding for this comes from Ad Valorem - General Fund.

Background:
Approval of this agreement will ensure the continued provision of sheltering, housing, care, and related services for animals impounded by Charlotte County Animal Control. The agreement supports the County’s commitment to animal welfare, public safety, and the humane treatment of animals within the community.
