REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION
recommendation
Recommended Action:
a) Adopt the One Charlotte, One Water Plan as Charlotte County's guiding framework for coordinated water resource stewardship, planning, and management activities; and
b) Approve Resolution adopting the One Charlotte, One Water Plan; and
c) Authorize the Chairman to sign the Resolution.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The One Charlotte, One Water Plan is an integrated approach in addressing all aspects of water and the departments that manage and benefit from these water resources, including surface, ground, potable, and stormwater. The goals are to: identify and execute measures assuring that State water quality standards are met; support a comprehensive system for monitoring water quality and quantity trends in Charlotte County; integrate further water quality protection/improvement practices within the County’s stormwater management program; maintain efficient, resilient, and fiscally sound water supply and treatment services; and achieve and build on water protection on goals in the Comprehensive Plan. This plan was developed to fulfill the associated Bold Goal in the BOCC Strategic Plan.
