Recommended Action:

Approve award of Request for Bid #26-072, Hurricane Ian Navigable Canal Debris Removal to Looks Great Services of MS, Inc. of Columbia, Mississippi at a unit rate of $68.75 per cubic yard. This is for the clearing of approximately 9,500 cubic yards of debris of (37 miles) of navigable canals throughout Charlotte County; including the cleaning, removing, and disposal of all storm-related debris from waterways.

Budgeted Action:

No action needed. A Q1 budget amendment will be brought to the Board for approval.  Grant funding will be provided by National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. There is no local match required.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background: 

It is the intent of Charlotte County to secure the services of a Contractor to furnish all materials, labor, equipment, and all other appurtenances required for the clearing of approximately 9,500 cubic yards of debris of (37 miles) of navigable canals throughout Charlotte County.

 

Therefore, it is recommended to approve award of Request for Bid #26-072, Hurricane Ian Navigable Canal Debris Removal to Looks Great Services of MS, Inc., of Columbia Mississippi at a unit rate of $68.75 per cubic yard.

 

The completion time is 90 calendar days with a liquidated damages rate of $1,690 per calendar day.
