Recommended Action:
Approve award of Request for Bid #25-328, Hurricane Ian Repairs at Various Vacuum Stations to Tarpon Bay General Contracting, Inc. of Port Charlotte, Florida for the total amount of $250,640. This is for services to remove, repair, and/or replace damages to three (3) vacuum stations on various lands owned or maintained by the County, due to Hurricane Ian.

Budgeted Action:
No action needed. A 4th quarter budget amendment will be brought to the Board for approval if awarded. Grant funding will be provided by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM). Local cost share is 5%. Matching funds will be provided by the Hurricane Fund.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
It is the intent of Charlotte County to secure the services of a licensed Contractor to provide services to remove, repair, and/or replace damages to three (3) vacuum stations on various lands owned or maintained by the County, due to Hurricane Ian. The project may include, but is not limited to, removal, disposal and replacement of metal tile roofing system, sheathing, trim and other items as indicated on the Contract documents specified herein. All work included in the Bid shall be completed within the contract time from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed.
Therefore, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to award Request for Bid #25-328, Hurricane Ian Repairs at Various Vacuum Stations to Tarpon Bay General Contracting, Inc. of Port Charlotte, Florida for the total amount of $250,640.
Completion time is 180 calendar days with a liquidated damages rate of $1,170 per calendar day.
