BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
Request the Board to set the public hearing for February 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., in accordance with Section 125.66, Florida Statutes. The County Code, Section 2-4-10: Operation of Golf Carts on Public Roads, was revised and adopted by the Board July 25, 2017. Florida Statutes, section 316.212 was updated in 2023. Staff initiated the proposed revisions to Section 2-4-10 to be consistent with the latest state laws and to add an alternative process to designate a roadway for golf cart use by plat or replat of a subdivision.
