No action needed. Budgeted in Capital Improvement Project “SCADA System Upgrades” as approved in the FY26 budget process. Funding will be supplied by the Utility Wastewater Connection Fee Fund.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The original purchase for this project was approved by the Board on May 12, 2026. Additional funds are requested to upsize two (2) VFDs from 100 HP to 150 HP, as the Membrane Train Project team determined the originally specified VFDs would be undersized for future membrane train pump upgrades. The revised quote will give the equipment installed under this Contract ability to support future upgrades, eliminate the need for replacement VFDs, and allow Utilities to proceed with critical modernization at the Burnt Store Wastewater Reclamation Facility.
This remains a sole source purchase through Rockwell Automation and its authorized distributor, Rexel USA, under the original contract documentation.
Therefore, it is determined to be in the best interest of the County to approve Change Order 1 for the Burnt Store PowerFlex VFD Upgrades at an additional cost of $16,982.02, awarded to Rexel USA, Inc. of Tampa, Florida, for a new total contract amount of $459,878.02.
