REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION

 

recommendation

Recommended Action:

a) Approve grant agreement SD017 between Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Charlotte County in the amount of $75,000 for the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership (CHNEP); and

b) Authorize the Chairman to sign the grant agreement; and

c) Authorize the County Administrator, or designee, to sign any additional documents necessary to this grant.

Budgeted Action:

No action needed. Grant funding in the amount of $75,000 and the required match of $75,000 are included in the FY26 budget for CHNEP Fund 1026. Grant funding is provided by Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Matching funds in the amount of $75,000 will be provided from CHNEP EPA320 funding.

Background: 

Approval will allow Charlotte County, as the fiscal host of the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership, to officially accept FDEP Grant #SD017. The grant funds the Budget & Work Plan for the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership. CHNEP’s funding leverages and complements local water resource protection efforts.
