No action needed. Budgeted in the Public Safety Fund - Sheriff BCC Direct Expense budget as approved in the FY2026 budget process. Funding for this expenditure comes from Ad valorem revenues.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background: 

In 2005, a ten-year lease with two five-year extension options was entered into between the Airport Authority and the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners.  This lease will terminate November 30, 2025.

 

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office has requested the County to execute a new Lease Agreement from the Charlotte County Airport Authority to remain in its current location: 27317 Mooney Avenue, Building 107, Punta Gorda.

 

The lease with the Charlotte County Airport Authority shall be for five-years (5) with an option to extend for five (5) additional years.  The first-year rental rate will be $144,000 for the first year ($12,000 monthly). Subsequent annual rental rates are adjusted based upon the Consumer Price Index (CPI). 

 

 

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, County Attorney’s Office, and Real Estate Services have reviewed and approved this lease.
