REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION
recommendation
Recommended Action:
a) Approve Resolution ratifying and adopting the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Suncoast Professional Firefighters and Paramedics Local 2546 and Charlotte County for 40-hour Peak Load EMS Unit program for recruitment and retention; and
b) Authorize the Chairman, or his designee, to sign the Resolution.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
IAFF requested to bargain, and the county agreed to bargaining to address recruitment, retention challenges and critical staffing shortages. This MOU memorializes the agreed upon terms and conditions of employment until such time as a successor Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) may be negotiated and ratified. The IAFF has ratified this MOU.
