Recommended Action:
a) Approve the Interlocal Agreement on behalf of the Coastal and Heartland National Estuary Partnership (CHNEP) and the Town of Fort Myers Beach for services supporting CHNEP’s Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan; and
b) Authorize the Chaiman to execute the Interlocal Agreement.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
Charlotte County serves as the fiscal host of the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership (CHNEP) to provide an array of operational support services, including entering into agreements on its behalf in support of the implementation of the CHNEP’s Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan. This interlocal agreement between Charlotte County, on behalf of the CHNEP, and the Town of Fort Myers Beach will allow the CHNEP to partner with the Town of Fort Myers Beach on projects and initiatives that improve water quality, restore hydrology, protect fish, wildlife, and their habitat as well as further public engagement in the CHNEP service area (which includes Charlotte County).
