BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

body

Background:

On June 28, 2021, the Board adopted Resolution 2021-077 agreeing to participate in the Florida Unified Plan governing the allocation and use of Opioid settlement proceeds.  Use of the monies is essentially limited to treatment and education of opioid/substance abuse.  There are 3 pots of monies - a city/county fund, a regional pot, and the State pot.  A portion of our local funding is being requested to assist in funding a Veteran’s Treatment Court program for Charlotte Behavioral Health.
