REQUESTED MOTION/ACTION
recommendation
Recommended Action:
a) Approve Cooperative Agreement No. 26CN0004971 between Southwest Florida Water Management District and Charlotte County on behalf of the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership (CHNEP) in the amount of $56,000 annually for the next five years; and
b) Authorize the Chairman to sign the grant agreement; and
c) Authorize the County Administrator, or designee, to sign any additional documents necessary to this grant.

Budgeted Action:
No action required. Grant funding in the amount of $56,000 is included in the FY26 budget for CHNEP Fund 1026. Grant funding is provided by Southwest Florida Water Management District.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
Approval will allow Charlotte County, administrative and fiscal host of the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership, to officially accept Cooperative Agreement No. 26CN0004971. The grant funds the Budget & Work Plan for the Coastal & Heartland National Estuary Partnership. CHNEP’s funding leverages and complements local efforts to protect regional water resources.
