BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The purpose of this contract is to secure the services of a Contractor to perform grinding services such as mulching and shredding of unprocessed horticultural vegetative yard waste and landscape debris. The department estimated that there is approximately 100,000 cubic yards currently occupying a significant amount of the Landfill’s operational space.
Therefore, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to award the services to Extreme Demolition and Land Clearing, LLC of Fort Myers, Florida at the unit price of $2.75 per cubic yard.
