Budget & Admin Services

a) Approve award of Request for Bid #24-202, Burnt Store Water Reclamation Facility Expansion, to Pool & Kent Company of Florida, of Port Charlotte, Florida, in the amount of $178,922,100. This is for expansion of the Burnt Store Water Reclamation Facility; and

b) Approve Resolution for budget adjustment BA24-121 in the amount of $116,705,686 adding additional funding for construction and project costs in the Capital Improvement Project “Burnt store WRF Expansion”; and

c) Approve amendment to the Capital Improvement Project “Burnt Store WRF Expansion”.

Budgeted Action:

Approve budget adjustment BA24-121 in the amount of $116,705,686 adding additional funding for construction and project costs in the Capital Improvement Project “Burnt Store WRF Expansion” increasing the budget from $100,185,924 to $216,891,610. Funding will come from anticipated 2024 Utility bond proceeds.

 

Background:

It is the intent of Charlotte County to secure the services of a licensed Contractor to furnish all materials, labor, equipment, and all other associated appurtenances required to successfully complete the construction of expanding the Burnt Store Water Reclamation Facility from 0.5 to 2.5 MGD.

The bids were reviewed by Utilities and McKim & Creed, the assigned Engineer for this project. One vendor was deemed non-responsive due to references not meeting criteria for projects of the same size and scope.

It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners approve award of Request for Bid #24-202, Burnt Store Water Reclamation Facility Expansion, to Pool & Kent Company of Florida, of Port Charlotte, Florida, in the amount of $178,922,100.

 

Completion Time: 900 calendar days

Liquidated Damages: $3,360 per calendar day
