Recommended Action:
Approve the transfer of $150,000 from the County Law Enforcement Trust Fund to the Sheriff's Law Enforcement Trust Fund.

Budgeted Action:
No action needed. A budget adjustment in the Law Enforcement Trust Fund will be brought forward in the first quarter of FY 2027. Funding for the expenditure comes from court-related fines and fees.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
The Sheriff receives Contraband Forfeiture revenue each year from money seized in violation of Florida Statutes section 932.701 through 932.704, the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act. The Statutes require the proceeds to be deposited in a special Law Enforcement Trust Fund established by the Board of County Commissioners and that the funds may be expensed by the Sheriff upon request.
