Recommended Action:

a) Approve award of Request for Bid #26-211, Indian Springs Cemetery Bank Stabilization to Earth Tech Enterprises, Inc. of Fort Myers, Florida for the total amount of $2,218,814.18. This is to secure the services of a Contractor for the successful channel and bank regrading and stabilization including riprap rubble ditch lining, gabion baskets and sheet pile wall construction; and

b) Approve Resolution for budget adjustment BA26-240 in the amount of $961,572; and

c) Approve amending Capital Improvement Project “Indian Spring Cemetery Bank Stabilization” increasing total project by $961,572.

Approve budget adjustment BA26-240 in the amount of $961,572 amending Capital Improvement Project “Indian Spring Cemetery Bank Stabilization” from $1,444,722 to $2,406,294. Funding is supplied by Capital Projects, ad valorem.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background: 

The purpose of this contract is to secure the services of a Contractor for the successful channel and bank regrading and stabilization. Stabilization measures include riprap rubble ditch lining, gabion baskets and sheet pile wall construction.

 

Therefore, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to approve award of Request for Bid #26-211, Indian Springs Cemetery Bank Stabilization to Earth Tech Enterprises, Inc. of Fort Myers, Florida for the total amount of $2,218,814.18.

 

The completion time is 365 calendar days with a liquidated damages rate of $1,690 per calendar day.
