Recommended Action:

a) Approve the 2026 Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant application between Charlotte County and the U.S. Department of Transportation in the amount of $555,561; and

b) Authorize the Board Chairman, or designee, to execute all required documents and agreements.

Background: 

The Charlotte County Fire & EMS Field Blood Delivery and Post-Crash Care Program aligns with Charlotte County’s strategic priorities by improving public safety, modernizing emergency response infrastructure, supporting skilled public service delivery, and using data-driven, fiscally responsible strategies to improve outcomes for severe roadway trauma patients. The project advances the County’s commitment to a safe and healthy community while leveraging federal SS4A funding to implement an innovative public safety infrastructure project that directly supports post-crash care and roadway fatality reduction.
