BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

body

Background:

On June 13, 2023, the Board approved the ranking and negotiations for RFP #23-302, Design Rampart Boulevard Sidewalks Phases 1, 2, and 3, with DRMP, Inc. A contract was negotiated and fully executed on September 5, 2024.

This Amendment is for supplemental design work in the phase 1 portion of the project. The primary project objective is to design and permit an 8-foot concrete sidewalk on the north side of Rampart Boulevard between Victoria Estates Street and Navigator Road, approximately 2.4 miles. As a part of Task 1.4 of the original agreement, the Consultant coordinated with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to finalize the scope for the work required to design & permit the sidewalk across their bridge that spans over Interstate 75. (existing bridge No. 010088). They concluded that a vertical separation must be present and the best way to achieve that is to pour a concrete sidewalk on top of the existing bridge.
