BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
Community Services is requesting the services for playground replacement at the South County Regional Park. The playground has reached the point where replacement is the most responsible option. Although our maintenance team has worked to keep the playground safe and operational, several components are showing signs of failure, making this a safety-driven replacement.
Continuing to repair the aging equipment has become increasingly costly and is no longer the best use of County resources. Replacing the playground will provide a safer environment for children, reduce ongoing repair costs, and ensure the community has a reliable, high-quality playground for years to come.
Therefore, it has been determined to be in the best interest of the County to award the Piggyback File #26-535, South County Regional Park Playground Replacement, per GovMVMT, Contract 4400011454, which was awarded to Florida Recreation Products of Lynn Haven, Florida, for a total cost of $497,082.89.
