Recommended Action:
Approve Change Order #1 to Request for Bid, #25-246, Generator Installation at Walenda Booster Station, for an additional $11,200, which was awarded to Solo Contracting Incorporated of Port Charlotte, Florida. This is for the installation of a County owned generator.

No action needed. Budgeted in the Capital Improvement Project “CCU Walenda Water Booster Station Generator” as approved in the FY25 budget process. Funding is supplied from the Water Connection Fee Fund.

BACKGROUND (Why is this Action Necessary, and What Action will be accomplished)

Background:
This Request for Bid was to install a County owned generator at the Walenda Booster Station located at 17180 Walenda Avenue, Port Charlotte, Florida 33953, which was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on 05/13/2025.
This Change Order is for signed and sealed slab design, new geotechnical report, and all materials and labor to increase the size of the generator pad. The original geotechnical report provides a pad size that is too small for the new generator.
Additionally, this Change Order adds 60 calendar days to the contract time for a new completion date of 11/28/2025.
Therefore, it is in the best interest of Charlotte County to approve Change Order #1 to Request for Bid, #25-246 Generator Installation at Walenda Booster Station, for an additional $11,200, which was awarded to Solo Contracting Incorporated of Port Charlotte, Florida, at the unit prices submitted, for a new total of $185,500.
